Biography

James He is in his 4th year of the MD/PhD program. He is conducting his thesis work in Patrycja Dubielecka-Szczerba’s lab applying proteomics techniques to understand the mechanism by which calreticulin mutations induce myeloproliferative neoplasms, a class of hematologic malignancies. James grew up in New Haven, CT and obtained his B.S. and M.S. degrees at the University of Connecticut before coming to Brown. He developed an early interest in cancer biology and aspires to become a translational hematologist/oncologist. Outside the lab, James likes to play and watch sports, explore the outdoors, and enjoy tabletop games such as chess.
