Andrew Ni
Biography
Andrew Ni is originally from Pittsburgh, PA and received degrees in Computational Biology and Neuroscience from Brown University. His undergraduate research in the Computational Brain Tumor Lab with Drs. Jay Hou and Clark Chen characterized the ex vivo migration of patient-derived glioblastoma cells, showing fast tumor cell migration predicts recurrence and survival. He has also served as a computational biologist in Dr. Kejie Yin’s lab at the University of Pittsburgh, studying stroke, traumatic brain injury, and vascular dementia; investigated cancer immunotherapy with Dr. Binfeng Lu; and developed nanowire retinal prostheses and deep learning models for retinal biomarkers with Dr. Jiayi Zhang at Fudan University. In the future, Andrew aspires to become a surgeon-scientist, leading an integrated neuro-oncology lab and clinic. Outside of the lab, Andrew enjoys playing golf, video games, and spending time with friends and family.
